Combining members Kabanjak’s love of blues with Dogu’s passion for 90′s hip hop funk, ‘Into Bass and Time’ is a kaleidoscopic journey from old-school to modern. Enlisting the talents of a variety of heavy hitting MCs and vocalists, this new album demonstrates a quintessential progression from their debut.‘Into Bass and Time’ sees the Astronauts take their vintage-meets-future block party aesthetic and blast off to new frontiers. Already having remixed and collaborated with the likes of Fort Knox Five, Ladybug Mecca of Digable Planets, Zion I, Imani and Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde, and Tippa Irie to name a few, the Ancient Astronauts have linked up with a variety of new sonic collaborators for their eclectic sophomore album. Entropik adds lush strings while DJ Brace cuts it up with vinyl acrobatics. Akua Naru and Phat Old Mamas lend a haunting feminine vocal edge while MC’s Azeem, Raashan Ahmad, and Monsoon drop sonic bombs on the m-i-c. From hard driving hip-hop, to funky breakbeat, to righteous dancehall reggae, to late night smokers’ trip-hop, ‘Into Bass and Time’ is a sonic rocket ship ride not to be missed!

The German hip-hop DJ's will be touring the US over the next few weeks in support of their debut album We Are to Answer (available from ESL Music), opening for Thievery Corporation on select October dates as well as DJing on their own in cities such as Washington DC, NYC, San Francisco and Oakland.
