Brand new music video for Thievery Corporation's single "Unified Tribes." The track features Mr Lif on vocals and is a dedicated to the Occupy movement.
Some new fire from the Flushing, Queens homie, L.E.O.!! This particular (unmastered) track is produced by DVSMiddleFingaz and features Eye Rule. It's part of the upcoming All In A Daze Journey LP by Fifth Column. The beat is dope and I'm really feeling their natural cohesive flow on this. I'm sure we'll be seeing more collabos from L.E.O. & Eye Rule soon...Once more info on the All In A Daze Journey LP is available, I will be sure to post here. Rumor has it that there might also be a possible Guillotine Cuts collabo in the near future, as well...but in the meantime, enjoy these bangers.
This second track is off of the upcoming Have A Nice Day....Somewhere Else LP produced by Xplicit, the unofficial sequal to Blue In the Vein. L.E.O. really goes deep on this and really makes you want to hear more...production is official, as usual, the homie Xplicit goes at it on his mastered craft...Xplicit is best known for producing Acknowledge by Masta Ace and also In the Sun by Large Professor & Q-Tip...
Click on the image below to access some snippets of Blue in the Vein, but trust me you might as well go download that, asap...cuz you're gonna end up downloading it after the snippets anyways...it's def worth it...Make sure you join the Unleashed By Science page on ReverbNation where you can download the entire Blue In the Vein album for free. Released back in 2002 & produced by that monster, Xplicit, Blue In the Vein is definitely a classic on its own...I still pump it to this day...
Also, if you haven't done so already, go download the Spiritual Intelligence album that I posted back in 2008. Really official material there, intellectual lyrics and entirely produced by the legendary Large Professor, mixed by J-Zone. You can also grab that for free on the Unleashed By Science ReverbNation page...
It breaks my heart to hear of another legend passing away in 2011. This year has been rough to us. I do remember hearing that she had cancelled the remaining shows of her tour back in September 2011 because she "needed to rest"...I was hoping that she would get that rest and be back on the road...I actually paid for everyone of her albums...cuz they were just that good...may she get the rest she deserves and she will always live through her music...
I'm excited about this one because I still have Love 2 on my iPhone, they're paying homage to silent filmmaker George Melies' 1902 silent film also named Le Voyage Dans La Lune (the voyage inside the moon)...I love Air's trippy, ambient electro sounds...album due out February 7, so pre-order now via iTunes.

Some really exciting news from one of my favorite female artists of all time!!! and that's a strong statement cuz there are sooo many:
Nacional Records is proud to announce the January 31st release of Ana Tijoux’s highly anticipated sophomore album ‘La Bala’, the follow-up to her critically acclaimed, GRAMMY nominated debut‘1977’.
The buzz behind ‘La Bala’ has been building since Tijoux’s debut ‘1977’ bubbled up from an underground sensation into mainstream recognition, with features on the hit TV show ‘Breaking Bad’ and the soundtrack to the EA Sports’ videogame FIFA ‘11. Profiled on MTV Tr3s’ “Descubre & Download” and invited to perform on NPR’s influential “Tiny Desk Concert” series, Ana Tijoux’s “1977” was also featured as the iTunes “Single Of The Week” and was one of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke's favorite tracks, with more than 1 million views on YouTube.
Ana Tijoux made her U.S. debut performing at SXSW in 2010, and has since toured the U.S. and Europe extensively, including stops at New York’s Central Park Summerstage, San Francisco’s Outside Lands and Chicago’s Lollapalooza. During GRAMMY weekend, Ana Tijoux performed ‘1977’ with The Roots as her backing band.
The new album’s lead single “Shock” is political testimony to the massive student protests occurring in Chile and around the world.
“Writing this song, I was inspired by these social movements, writing from my perspective as a mother, musician and citizen. I thought it was important to pay homage to these protesters.”
La Bala features 11 new songs from Ana Tijoux, featuring collaborations with Academy Award winning musician Jorge Drexler, Chilean rap crew Solo Di Medina (formerly La Pozze Latina), and Cuban hip-hop group Los Aldeanos. The album was recorded in Tijoux’s hometown of Santiago Chile, and mixed and mastered in Detroit, Michigan.

Fidel's Latin Grammy nominated album "Forever Together" available on iTunes November 8 2011. After listening to this album like 6 times in a row it's obvious why it's nominated for a Latin Grammy!! There are some serrrrious tracks on here. Some of my immediate favorites which required a quick "rewind" are Yuh Don't Know, Ya No Se Que Mas Decir, Yo No Queiro No, and Te Robaste Mi Corazon...I've been appreciating Nadal's skills since he was the frontman for legendary Argentine rasta punk rockers Todos Tus Muertos. And especially when he joined Manu Chao and his band Mano Negra to record the classic album ‘Casa Babylon’ in 1994. Some of my other favorites include Emocionado & Internacional Love (which was also on FIFA 2011)...I'm definitely buying this ASAP and will post a link to purchase it once I have it!!

Lulu was inspired by German writer Frank Wedekind’s plays “Earth Spirit” and “Pandora’s Box,” which tell a story of a young abused dancer’s life and relationships.
The plays, originally published in 1904 and set in Germany, Paris and London in the 1890s, whirl between the points of view of Lulu, an inverted-Eve-like cipher-mirror of desire and abuse, and the people who fall desperately in love with her. Lulu is the great femme fatale. She was conceived as immoral. Or amoral.
The LULU album was produced by Lou Reed, Metallica, Hal Wilner, & Greg Fidelman and mixed by Greg Fidelman. All songs composed by Lou Reed with significant arrangement contributions by Metallica

A note from Vinnie Paz:
Our new album "Violence Begets Violence" drops October 25th. Some of you have heard by now that this is the first Jedi Mind Tricks album we've made without Stoupe handling the production. Bottom line is at some point after making our last album, "A History of Violence," Stoupe lost his passion for making hip-hop and wanted to try new things.
Through our career, we've always waited on him to get inspired to make a new album, but this time around we got tired of waiting out his creative drought. He tried to produce some things for this new album, but we could tell early on that his heart wasn't in making JMT records anymore. He's moved on as a producer to work in other genres with his sideprojects, Dutch and Vespertina, and we've moved on with a new crop of talented producers to make the hardcore hip-hop we've always been known for.
We're reinvigorated and we feel like these younger, hungrier kids put a battery in our back. You deserve the best music we can make. Stoupe made great albums with us, but he's moved in a different direction as a producer, so we decided this was the best move for us to make sure we give you guys the best music we can.
Regardless, Jus and I feel like we made a great record. I've made plenty of other albums with other producers. You guys know AOTP. You know my solo shit. Some of you even said that my solo album was the best work I've done to date, including all of the JMT albums. Don't worry, that classic hardcore JMT shit is coming on October 25th. Just trust me. I've never let you down in 15 years. Give us the benefit of the doubt and listen to "Violence Begets Violence" with an open mind.
The music business is crazy right now. Most artists disappear after one album or one single. We've been fortunate to have a 15-year run, which could've never happened without you guys...our fans. The last thing we want to do is to try to pull the wool over your eyes, so we wanted to let you know upfront about Stoupe, but also let you know that we're still Jedi Mind Tricks...we still are, and always will be, making hardcore shit no matter who mans the boards. Here's a taste of what's in store. This one is called "Target Practice" and produced by Hypnotist Beats. Download it here.
As always thanks for your unwavering support, Vinnie Paz and the JMT crew

below updated on Sept. 15, 2011: Eric Bobo has been doing real thangs since I can remember...matter of fact, I just saw him a couple of days ago on Sept. 3rd performing with Cypress Hills @ Rock the Bells 2011...He was killin' it big time on the drums/congas...sooo as soon I received the word announcing this album I had to check it out, especially seeing that it was a collabo with Latin Bitman from Chile...I figured this is definitely gonna sound official!! Luckily Nacional Records sent me the album along with the announcement and when I saw the tracklisting I almost had a heartache!! Sick Jacken with Ana Tijoux, WTF!??? for real? Sick Jacken has always been on my top list of emcees and so is Ana!! The Legend of the Mask and the Assassin has always been in my ipod and I always, I mean always, play it from beginning to end, as I do with Ana's debut album...I've always been promoting Ana's album even wayyyy before it was released, but anyways, the point is I was estatic!! After hearing I think the collabo is straight fire, but I'm not going to lie the whole time I was waiting to hear Ana destroy a verse. All it really ended up being was a chorus and a couple of other bars from her...a bit disappointing but hopefully there will be future collabos from them...the rest of the album is really on point...Maestro and Sangre are already some of my favorites, and Welcome to the Ritmo Machine (the title track) is a great way to set the album off...I love the blend of A Tribe Called Quest's Check the Rhyme with the congas, the scratches, etc...
definitely look out for this album because it promises to make a big buzz...not to mention it has some really notable features including Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Sen Dog (Cypress Hil), Ana Tijoux, Money Mark & Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys), P-Nut (311) and Sick Jacken (Psycho Realm)
Tracklist: 01. Welcome To The Ritmo Machine 02. Maestro 03. Witness This Heat (feat. Chali 2na) 04. La Calle (feat. Sick Jacken & Ana Tijoux) 05. This Day 06. Save My World (feat.
