Damon Albarn - Dr Dee Interactive Album Sampler

Dr Dee, a new studio album by Damon Albarn, will be released by Parlophone Records on 7th May 2012 - Pre-Order here

Dr Dee is 18 tracks of songs and music inspired by the life of John Dee, mathematician, polymath and advisor to Elizabeth I. Described by Albarn as 'strange pastoral folk', Dr Dee is a fitting companion to the end of another Elizabethan age. The album combines Albarn's voice with early English choral and instrumentation alongside modern, West African and Renaissance sounds.

Dr Dee was recorded late last year in Albarn's West London studio and also in Salford with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The album was mixed by Valgeir Sigursson in Reykjavik.

Blur: Fool's Day

Damon Albarn, one of the genius monsters behind The Gorillaz teams back up with Blur after a seven year hiatus to drop some fire for the third-annual Record Store Day...obviously they were sold out instantly and most of these ended up on eBay...I heard they were going for up to 200 Euros, since only 1,000 of them were printed...

Massive Attack: Saturday Come Slow (Feat. Damon Albarn) video

Filmed inside Cambridge University's anechoic chamber (designed to create total silence) and featuring former Guantanamo Bay detainee, Ruhal Ahmed, this short by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin is a reflection on Ahmed's experiences whilst in detention (particularly how he was interrogated using high-volume music) and about the use of human sound on the body.
